Re-imagining the online presence for an established corporate events and conference business

Purchased as an acquisition by the Solent Group, EMG have a long and established reputation for high level corporate event and conference management Europe-wide.

The essence of our brief was to create a dynamic and engaging events website that fulfilled strict optimisation and search criteria - as well as being intuitive and easy to filter through 80+ events. The previous generation website suffered from poor search ranking and visibility which in turn affected online traffic, bounce rate and sales. It was critical that the new site should perform strongly organically and through on-going third-party optimisation efforts.

The result is a fluid, vibrant and image-led site (designed for use across all mobile devices) which is rich in event information and integrates several years of blogging and news. Technically, the code is super-optimised for speed and employs best practice methodologies for enhancing organic keyword search and site visibility. There are some clever functional tricks enabling quick filtering and navigation through the site and it is of course built using our own open-source based content management system, Wavelength. To increase search ranking points yet further we have added an SSL certificate to the domain.

In short, the new site has made a big difference to the EMG sales team (great positive feedback internally and from Clients alike) and their search-critical campaign to drive online leads and sales - since go-live the site has already experienced a giant leap forward in organic Google searches!
